Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide building owners and operators a structured blueprint for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance. As an internationally recognized third-party verification green building certification system, energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reductions, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts are the metrics LEED is aimed at improving.
LEED Green Associates are professionals who want to demonstrate green building expertise in non-technical fields of practice. A LEED Green Associate credential, created by the Green Building Certification Institute, denotes basic knowledge of green design, construction, and operations.
